Diaconate Formation and Training

The 59 active deacons in Utah serve in parishes and missions by providing pastoral care and service. They administer baptisms, witness marriages, officiate at funerals, preach, and visit the sick. In the absence of priests, they preside at Sunday Celebrations. The Diaconate Formation program requires four years.
